Gibbs Bookbinding is pleased to work with designers, prop masters, art directors, and assistants in the creation of props for films, commercials, photography, interactive exhibits, and other situations. All work is custom, to client’s specifications and deadlines. Please see project specifications for guidelines.

  1. Television hero prop. Julian Fellowes, The Gilded Age (HBO). Green goatskin leather box with lifting lid, rounded lid, gold stamping on all sides and top. Lined with green silk.

  2. Television hero prop. The Mysterious Benedict Society (Disney, season two). Full white cloth binding. Printed dummy pages. Stamping in three locations in two colors.

  3. Movie hero prop. A Beer Tale (Amazon, remake version). Full blue cloth binding with artificial aging. Stamping in two locations and two colors. Hero pages interspersed with dummy pages.

  4. Film hero prop. Once Upon A Time … in Hollywood. Sewn binding to open flat. Interior pages: printed pages, copyright cleared text. Cover: black book cloth, no foil stamping.

  5. Music video hero prop. The Foo Fighters, The Sky is a Neighborhood. Sewn binding to open flat. Interior pages: blank pages; printed pages; hand-dyed pages. Cover: hand-dyed goatskin leather, gold foil stamping.

  6. Brown leather historic style binding. Raised bands and gold on spine, gold borders and corners, gold panel, green leather panel with two color gold foil stamping.

  7. Artificial Fur and Genuine Fur. Reused vintage interior text. Inset glass eyes. Genuine rabbit fur has leather nose, genuine whiskers, suede lined ears, and tail.

  8. Yearbook. Re-used vintage interior text. Blue artificial leather cover. Foil stamping using 3 dies, in 2 colors: white and gold.

  9. Paper reproduction binding, from digital files. Interior, archival book. Paper imagery printed, then tea-stained and hand-dyed.

  10. Hand dyed brown leather historic style binding. Gold foil stamped corners and spine. Edge of book pages painted gold.

Edge decoration options:

Silver, gold, artificial aging (two effects).

Artificial aging of paper:
